Jessie:Hi, Julia! Fancy meeting you here! I’ve been fine. Thanks. Hey, you haven’t changed a bit!

Jessie:For three days. I came back to see my parents.
Julia:Look, when are you leaving Suzhou?
Jessie:Next week. Time does fly!
Julia:Sure it does. Say, do you think you’ll have the time to meet a few old friends? Anyway, we should have a get-together.
Jessie:Well, yes, I think so.
Julia:Great! I’ll call Kathy, Jenny, and Angel right now. I’m sure they’ll be happy to learn that you are back.

A Deceitful(骗人的) Trick(把戏)
One afternoon, when I went into ABC Tea Shop, I saw a small shabby-looking(衣衫不成样子的) fellow. Reluctantly(不情愿地) I went to sit down at a table near his when the waitress came up to him, cleaning away(清理) the plates on his table and asked. "Anything more, sir?" "Eh...a fried egg will do...I suppose..." The man's voice trailed off(渐渐变小).
"One enough?" demanded the girl, and she took away my order, too. "Ladies are awful(糟糕的). You know what women are." The man said with a smile, "It's been a long time now, but my wife hasn't showed up. Would you tell me the exact time?"
"My watch says two thirty," I said.
Leaning(斜靠) over my table, the man said: "You have a kind face. I asked for your help. I'm just waiting for my wife."
At this I was quite at a loss(不知所措), I did not know what to say.
"I've been waiting for my wife for hours, "he repeated(重复), "but still she hasn't come. She arranged(安排) to meet me in Lion Tea Shop."
"But this is ABC Tea shop." I cut in(插话).
"Good lord(上帝呀)! I need to leave, but I can't, for my wife forgot to give me money..." with these words, tears bubbled(咕嘟咕嘟冒着泡) down.
"Pull yourself together(别伤感,挺起身来), and I'll pay the bill for you."
Two weeks later, I walked into Lion Tea Shop and found a small shabby-looking man with his back to me. He was saying to a gentleman in front of him: "You have a kind face. I asked for your help, and I'm just waiting for my wife..."
