A furniture mover in Waldoboro, Maine has discovered that that his new workmate is his long-lost brother.
Gary Nisbet and Randy Joubert had both been adopted at birth and when Joubert started his position at the job Nisbet had been at for seven years, other colleagues remarked on their resemblance, The AP reports.
Joubert said: "We thought they were just trying to razz us. Customers would ask if we were brothers more often than not. Then my brain started heading that way."
The 36-year-old conducted some research and discovered that he had a brother and learnt his original name and birthdate.
He added: "I said, ’Gary, I’m going to ask you a strange question. Are you adopted?’. [I said our parents’ name and] he takes off his hat and says, ’How did you know that?’.
"This kid could have been anywhere in the world, and here I am riding in a Dow Furniture truck with him."
Fellow employee Greg Berry said: "Everybody was standing around with their mouths open. The girls had the tears flying and the guys, just, ’Wow!’.
"There’s nothing like family, especially when you don’t have one. Now they’ve got it."
