In 2008, Brad Pitt led the act in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and Angelina Jolie led the act in Changeling. They are both highly praised and they are nominated the Best Actor and the Best Actress in the 81st Oscar Ceremony. Unfortunately, they both brushed against the golden man.

There is one difference between the films. The former one is fictional while the later is based on a true story. So, I choose to review the later one, which I think will warm us under this whole world financial chilly wind. Another reason is that Jolie’s performance is really impressive, as the critics said she had surpassed herself。
Changeling is a 2008 American drama film directed by Clint Eastwood and written by Michael Straczynski. Set in 1928 Los Angeles, single mother Christine Collins (Angelina Jolie) returns home one day after she has finished work and finds that her nine-year-old son, Walter, is missing. After 5 months, she reunited with her kidnapped son—only to realize he is an impostor. She insists to search for her son, which confronting the LAPD (the Los Angeles Police Department)， a department ruled by violence, abuse, murder, corruption and threats and does not tolerate dissent, or contradiction, or even embarrassment, then she is vilified as an unfit mother and sent to an asylum。
The climax comes. If Christine signed the paper that certified she was wrong when she stated the boy returned to her by the police was not her son, which further stipulated that the police were right in sending her here for observation and it absolved them of all responsibility, she could leave, safe and early. I was so scared that she would sign it. I lost my faith in this mother at that time. I was wrong. It was out of instinct for her to insist “He’s not my son”. No matter how much she was going to suffer, she wouldn’t give up. It was the first time for Christine to get really emotional and irritated.
Suddenly I realize that this is almost a fight between women and men. No woman can be strong like her ever although she said “I am not on a mission, I just want my son back” before. The whole thing develops in a more complicated way. It evolves over the police system and cracks a serious criminal case. The truth is cruel in real life. Walter probably had died. But Christine lived by hope continually looking for her son。
As far as I am concerned, if you don’t view it as a good movie, you should take it as a good story, at least. It tells you a story deliberately, to remind you to keep your faith and hope to face and fight against the cold world. As Mrs. Collins said “never start a fight, always finish it”， and she did finish it。
