Chinese equities fell on Wednesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.59 percent, or 19.25 points, to close at 3,255.21 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index lost 1.16 percent, or 160.87 points, to close at 13,664.97 points.
Combined turnover totaled 196.97 billion yuan (29.97 billion U.S. dollars), shrinking from 213.2 billion yuan on the previous trading day.
