Chinese shares opened slightly higher Monday with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.58 percent to open at 3,114.29 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index rose 1.08 percent to 13,015.48 points at the opening.
Weak market sentiment on concerns over capital-raising of Chinese banks sent the Shanghai Composite Index down 2.36 percent and Shenzhen Component Index down 3.09 percent on Friday.
