Chinese shares opened slightly higher on Wednesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.16 percent to open at 3,119.31 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index added 0.2 percent to open at 12,886.1 points.
Yao Gang, vice chairman of the China Securities Regulatory Commission, has urged to improve investor education and establish a long-term effective mechanism in a bid to protect investors’ interests and facilitate the steady and healthy development of the capital market, according to Wednesday’s China Securities Journal.
