Chinese equities edged down 0.59 percent Monday after a near 5 percent rally on the previous trading day.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index fell 17.23 points, or 0.59 percent, to end at 2,894.48. The Shenzhen Component Index lost 57.35 points, or 0.49 percent to close at 11,743.89
Combined turnover rose to 155.64 billion yuan (22.89 billion U.S. dollars) from 145.52 billion yuan on the previous trading day.
