Latest figures of the Yiwu Industry and Commerce Administrative Bureau have showed that the trading volume of Yiwu’s all kinds of commodity markets stood at 55.61 billion RMB yuan (8.14 billion U.S. dollars) in 2009, setting a new record high, 12.96 percent more than in 2008, in spite of the global financial crisis.
