(二) 核心短语讲解
1. go back to 回到，返回。 如：I will go back to my hometown after graduation. 我毕业后将返回家乡。
2. as far as I know 据我所知。 可以用来引起下文，表示紧接着要告诉别人自己所知道的东西。如：As far as I know, people in that country are very friendly. 据我所知，那个国家的人很友好。
3. as a matter of fact 事实上，相当于in fact。 如：As a matter of fact, I have never been there .事实上我从来没有去过那里。
4. as for 关于，至于。 如：I have never thought about it as for buying a new house. 至于买新房子，我从来都没有想过。
5. not only ... but also 不仅．．．．．．而且．．．．．．。 如：I can not only swim, but also skate. 我不仅会游泳，而且会滑冰。
6. refer to 指，谈到，参照。 如：You can refer to the dictionary when you meet some new words. 当你遇到生词的时候，可以查字典。 refer to 常常与as 连用，refer to ...as, 相当于regard... as,意思是“把．．．．．．称为”。
7. lose voice 失声，不能说话。 由lose构成的短语还有：lose heart灰心；lose sight of 忘记，忽略。 如：
Never lose your heart. 永远都不要灰心气馁。
8. Is there anything I can do for him?我可以帮他什么忙吗？ 与此意思相同的还有：What can I do for you?或Can I help you?
9. My pleasure我很乐意。 当别人向你表示感谢时，通常用这句话来表示自己很乐意帮忙。也可以说：It is my pleasure.或I am glad I can help you.
10. not ...until 直到．．．．．．才。 表示直到until后限定的时间点动作才发生。 如：I did not go to bed until you came back. 直到你回来，我才上床睡觉。
11. as soon as 立刻，一．．．．．．就．．．．．．。 如：I will go to visit you as soon as I am free. 我一有空就会去拜访你。
12. not at all 一点也不。 如：－I am sorry for giving you so much trouble. －Not at all. －很抱歉给你添了这么多麻烦。 －不用客气。
