(一)形容词、副词的比较级和最高级
  英语中当要表示“比较......”以及“最......”的时候,往往要用比较级和最高级。形容词和副词都有比较级和最高级,其构成方法有两种:一种是直接在形容词或副词后加词缀-er,-est;另一种是在形容词和副词前面加副词more,most。
  1.加-er,-est(适合于单音节词和一部分双音节词),如:
  原型     比较级    最高级
  early     earlier    earliest
  quick     quicker    quickest
  small     smaller    smallest
  2.加副词more,most(适合多音节词和一部分双音节词),如:
  原型      比较级     最高级
  beautiful more beautiful most beautiful
  complicated more complicated most complicated
  valuable more valuable most valuable
  3.少数形容词和副词在变比较级和最高级时有特殊的形式,如:
  原型     比较级     最高级
  good/well better best
  many/much more most
  little less least
  在使用比较级的时候,常常用than引导状语从句,指出谁与谁相比。如:
  He is taller than I.
  She went to school earlier today than (she did ) yesterday.
  I did morning exercises more often this year than(I did ) last year.

  cliché n.铅板;陈词滥调;老生常谈
  [例句] I know it's a bit of a cliché, but she means everything to me.
  [译文] 我这话听起来不免像老套子,不过对我来说,她的确意味着一切。
  tangible adj.有形的;有实质的;可触知的
  [例句] Sculpture is a tangible art form.
  [译文] 雕刻是一种可触摸的艺术形式。
  Collapse v.崩溃
  [例句] The country's economy is on the verge of collapse.
  [译文] 这个国家的经济已到了崩溃的边缘。
  instaneous adj.瞬间的;即刻的
  [例句] She accidently swallowed the poison and death was instaneous.
  [译文] 她意外地的吞下了毒药,当即就死去了。
  invaluable adj.无价的,无法估价的
  [例句] His advice has been invaluable to the success of the project.
  [译文] 他的建议对于这项工程的成功是无可估量的。
  boost v.提高,推广
  [例句] These changes will help to boost share prices.
  [译文] 这些变化将有助于提高股票价格。
  pronounced adj.明显的
  [例句] He has very pronounced ideas on everything.
  [译文] 他对一切事情都有明确的看法。
  barrier n.障碍
  [例句] Lack of confidence is the biggest barrier to investment is the region.
  [译文] 缺乏信心是在这一地区投资的最大障碍。
  (二)核心短语讲解
  (1) work on 致力于,为......工作。如:We've been working on expanding our scope of cooperation with China.我们一直致力于扩大与中国的合作范围。
  (2) I mean the first five years...我的意思是指最初的五年...... I mean在日常会话中很常用,表示“我的意思是......”。如:I mean you should work hard on your study. 我的意思是你应该努力学习。
  (3) what's more而且,更重要的是,更有甚者。如:She admitted she'd spoken to them, and what's more had told them about our secret discussion.她承认好和他们讲了话,更糟的是把我们秘密讨论的内容都告诉了他们。
