专有名词冠词的用法
1.除了一些特殊情况，专有名词前一般不加冠词
人名：Lu Xun Jiang Zhening
地名：Hong Kong China Alaska
其他：July Saturday Easter
2.在某些地理名词前要加the
a.江，河，海，洋； the Yangtze River长江，the Hudson River哈得孙河
b.山脉，群岛 the Tian Shan Moumtains 天山山脉 the Philippines菲律宾群岛
c.海峡，海湾 the English Channel 英吉利海峡
3.普通名词构成的专有名词很多要加the a.某些国名及政治组织名称 the People’s Republic of China the United States
b.某些机构、学校、建筑物等的名词
the British Museum 、the University of Washington、the Pentagon五角大楼、the Titanic泰坦尼克号
c.某些报刊杂志的名称 the New York Times 纽约时报、 the Times泰晤士报
4.名词前通常不加冠词 a.街名不加the Sunset Street
b.多数广场名 Times Square时代广场
