1,The total amount of Judy's water bill for the last quarter of the year was $40.50. The bill consisted of a fixed charge of $13.50 plus a charge of $0.0075 per gallon for the water used in the quarter. For how many gallons of water was Judy charged for the quarter?

2,The average (arithmetic mean) of the 11 numbers in a list is 14. If the average of 9 of the numbers in the list is 9, what is the average of the other 2 numbers?
Quantity A |
|
Quantity B |
The standard deviation of a set of 5 different integers each of which is between 0 and 10 |
|
The standard deviation of a set of 5 different integers each of which is between 10 and 20 |
A. Quantity A is greater.
B. Quantity B is greater.
C. The two quantities are equal.
4,In triangle ABC, the measure of angle A is 25° and the measure of angle B is greater than 90°. Which of the following could be the measure of angle C ?
Indicate all possible values.
A. 12°
B. 15°
C. 45°
D. 50°
E. 70°
Click on your choice(s).
House Prices |
Number of Houses |
$100,000 - $133,000 |
12 |
$134,000 - $166,000 |
25 |
$167,000 - $199,000 |
8 |
The table shows the distribution of prices of 45 houses for sale in a certain region.
Select two of the following choices and place them in the blanks below so that the resulting statement is true.
$175,000 |
$185,000 |
$190,000 |
at most $42,000 |
at least $57,000 |
If the highest price of the 45 houses is , then the range of the prices of the 45 houses is .
Click on a choice, then click on a blank.
6,The symbol ∆ represents one of the four operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, and 3 ∆ 1 = 3.
For each of the following equations, indicate whether the equation must be true, must be false, or could be either true or false.
Equation |
Must Be True |
Must Be False |
Could Be True or False |
6 ∆ 2 = 3 |
|
|
|
6 ∆ 2 = 4 |
|
|
|
6 ∆ 2 = 12 |
|
|
|
Click on your choices.
Click on the answer box, then type in a number. Backspace to erase.
接下来就考察考生对于must be true、could be true这类逻辑判断语言的理解了。
因此第一个等式6∆2=3在∆代表×时错误,但在∆代表÷时正确,因此第一式应为could be true or false有可能对也可能错;
第二个等式6∆2=4不论∆代表×或÷都不正确,因此第二式应为must be false一定错误;
