Insurance Asia/Pacific Young Talent Programme

The IAP Young Talent Programme aims to develop the future leaders of ING within Insurance Asia Pacific: managers or specialists with a can-do spirit, a passion for teamwork and a focus on results. The programme consists of two separate tracks, namely the:

General Management Programme (GMP)
The General Management Programme (GMP) aims to accelerate the development of future business leaders through a structured programme that consists of job assignments, learning and development programmes and career guidance. The GMP is an intensive three year international programme consisting of 4 assignments, normally 1 in the IAP Regional office in Hong Kong, 1 in ING Europe/or ING USA and 2 in the local business units in the region. The 4 assignments are cross-functional and cross-geographical in nature and may include (but not limited to) several of the following functions, Sales, Marketing, Strategic Business Development, Operations, Risk, Finance, Risk Management and HR.

Functional Management Programme (FMP)
The functional Management Programme (FMP) develops future leaders within a functional area (e.g., Risk, Asset Management, Marketing, Finance, etc.) through a structured programme combining coursework and job assignments. It's an intensive two year programme consisting of 3 assignments, normally 1 in the IAP Regional office in Hong Kong, 1 in ING Europe/or ING USA and 1 in the local business unit in the region. The assignments are within one specific function but across geographies and are designed to equip the participants with exceptional technical, functional and business skills.

It's your career
We believe in facilitating talent rather than leading you by the hand, so the initiative you show will go a long way in determining your opportunities.

Besides short term assignments, the programme includes two further aspects:

Learning and Development: As well as the ING B
Business School, we also provide workshops and learning courses designed to increase your technical ability, managerial skills and leadership qualities. The IAP Young Talent Programme provides training and learning courses designed to increase your technical ability, managerial skills and leadership qualities. Part of the Young Talent Programme is the ING International Graduate Programme, a four year programme that builds on the cornerstones of personal development and leadership, while continuing to add new and relevant skills, knowledge, and tools participants need to succeed in their early career.
Mentoring: As a GMP/FMP you will be part of a formal Mentoring programme that will see you allocated to a Senior Manager for the duration of your rotation assignment. The Mentoring programme is designed to teach you what it takes to be successful within ING as well as providing day-to-day advice and support. This also includes coaching on specific skills and monitoring by an HR manager
How to develop your talent
We run many programmes. They focus on developing technical proficiency, business skills and leadership potential. The IAP Young Talent Programme provides exceptional on-the-job, in-house and professional training, and gives you the chance to build a network of contacts and to undertake different roles and projects that really challenge you. And that's not all, as a recently hired graduate who has been identified as a potential ING leader, you have the chance to be part of our ING International Graduate Curriculum. This four-year programme runs alongside and supplements our talent programme. It consists of two international, cross-business learning events: the INSPIRE event in year one and the LEAD event in year four, with the CONNECT and PERFORM event held in Asia Pacific in years two and three.

We take the view that the top-quality service we provide our clients should be reflected in the conditions of employment an
d working conditions we offer our staff.
